I'm going to stick my neck on the line and say there will be no play before lunch...

or at all today actually.

Somerset are away at Warwickshire so atleast one of them is going to drop points (or one is going to pick them up) depending on how you look at it.

Save your fuel/bus/train fare/legs After months with no Championship cricket at Headingley, of course it decides to throw it down on the day it returns.

Why not. They are the ones who have hijacked the season and marginalised cricket to pre and post season slots. A pox on all their houses.

Trying to get a little value from my membership so arranged to go today and Thursday my first 2 CC days since May, my last two were days 3 and 4 at Scarborough where we didn't put a foot wrong, seriously tho can see a drop off in full memberships it just doesn't make sense anymore, but i suppose the powers that be knew this when they sold our game out to Sweet Caroline singers.

It is due to stop raining in Leeds at 11am and be fine for the rest of the day I would admit our recent record against Middlesex is poor but who has got the most wickets for them in the last four meetings Toby Roland Jones (toblerone) and he isn't playing in this match due to him being in the England squad

With no cricket since mid August I am hoping they have all been practicing the red ball skills in the nets. The proof will be in the pudding.

Hope the weather behaves itself once it's stopped.

Stumps - if you can have stumps when they've never appeared.
And that concludes the lack of entertainment for today.

Did anyone actually bother turning up today?

Three days is certainly enough time for us to get beat in.

The most solid opening day in the Championship for a while.

Call me Mr Stupid, but I did go. When they announced the 2 pm inspection, the weather was improving and I foolishly thought they would start at about 3pm.

All the roads were bone-dry in Leeds, but our very expensive drainage system could not cope.

False hope

September 5 2017, 5:31 PM

Must admit I was hopeful when I saw the 2 pm inspection.

Think I'll get there early for the Members forum in the morning and hopefully a decent full days cricket.
