Credit due to Jack Brooks on his 5 wickets, albeit just one day too late to affect outcome of this match. Maybe this was the plan 😀

What's going off? Coad comes onto the pitch as twelfth man, slips on a spare headband and takes 5 wickets without being found out?

"Are Surrey losing wickets through slogging or has Brooks found a purple patch belatedly?"

As long as it's one of those two and not that the pitch has started to deteriorate then it's ok

As Freddie would say -- I don`t know what`s going on out there.

Coad rested, then is sub fielder. Who is he on for? Have we another injury? Brooks has an inspired burst, but 24 hrs to late. Somerset look like winning, and us losing. We save Coad for next week, and it might heave it down all week, and he has played two days cricket in the last month in which time he has bowled just 17 overs - he must be "worn out".

Good come back and it looks like we'll restrict them to around the 600 mark. Any predictions for our first innings, I will go for 260-80.

Agree, a great fight back, but only 1 point so far. Just need to fight and fight, to get another 10. Hope springs eternal!!

Somerset got their first bowling point in the 23rd over. Middlesex are not doing well, though.

Interesting take on the BBC website. Would have thought a deceleration would be something at least.

"A 258-run partnership between Kumar Sangakkara and Ben Foakes. Sangakkara is a genius and Foakes should be on the plane to Australia this winter.

Surrey in a very good position, but Jack Brooks bowled extremely well this morning, picking up four wickets and stalling Surrey's serene progress.

Surrey will want more runs after lunch. Yorkshire will feel they are no longer waiting for a deceleration."

Anyway, looks like we will eventually get a chance to see if we can get a batting point, or perhaps even two.

Can Adam Lyth do a good impression of Alex Lees now his baby has arrived?

Left handed, put a helmet on and you can't tell the difference. We had a suggestion that Coad was Brooks in disguise so you never know

Game on. 443 to avoid follow on. 593 for a lead and 743 to put the pressure on them when we won by an innings.

A minor achievment for us, we have kept them to under 600!! Which considering where we were overnight was not something I was expecting.

Now we need 400 off 110 overs, then 443 to avoid the follow on. Could end up with 11 points. Heres hoping!!

We'll have to bat quickly to secure a win from this position.....

(Irony hat. For those old enough to remember..)

Raining at Uxbridge, 20 miles away from the Oval. Just need it to rain for a day or so, but leave us 110 overs to get our maximum batting points!!

Don't jinx it! Suspect they are liking the track as much as Surrey did.
