Very well played both centurions 😀 Great double century partnership when it was needed.

And well done Alex Lees - I'm delighted for the young man.
Just out now for 102.

Whilst the Oval is a notorious road and bowlers graveyard which surreys volume of draws this year supports, you still need to get your runs and bat long so well done to both our centurions.

Fantastic effort from both marsh and lees

I'm currently eating a big piece of humble pie after my comments late yesterday

I've got to say it's fantastic for lees to get a good score and I've got to congratulate gale and moxon for putting him at 3. He looks a completely different player these past 3 innings so hopefully we can get either marsh or another opener for next year and leave him where he is.

Hopefully an opening pace bowler under the age of 33 can be recruited as well

Fully understandable why Surrey have drawn 10 matches from 12 this year. A very strong batting line-up, a road for the batsmen, and a weak bowling attack, plus the Oval is a bowlers nightmare. Lets hope it remains so next week and Somerset only draw with Surrey.

That will do Lees the world of good, road or no road, won't it? A gutsy performance today and it's a pleasure to be able to say that.

Little wonder that batsmen like Stoneman move from North to the Oval 😀

We are off for bad light: Middlesex for rain.Looks like that's it. Anyone knock up the bottom of the points table for us?

A job well done. Good to see both Lees and TKC getting runs in this match, when one of them would have missed out if Lyth was playing. Nice parting gift from Marsh too.

Bad light

September 15 2017, 3:50 PM

That might be the end of it if rain is on it's way.

I was never worried.

Well done to all concerned, I don't think I slagged off any of our bowlers but if I did I take it back.

Looking forward to seeing them play on a proper pitch next week, weather permitting.

Proper grit on show over the past two days. I looked on here last night and assumed we'd already lost by an innings! Mind you, Stu was posting a lot. 😉

Think if we show same spirit for last 2 games as we have today we will be fine.

So if Adam's back from paternity leave next week, what's our eleven? Not sure I wouldn't play him instead of Rafiq.

Well Bratthwaite for Marsh for starters although Lyth back means a potential new opening pair.

Rafiq may be injured and another seamer may be one too many so Carver?

I could live with Carver, but we would then have to leave one of the top five from this game out if we are to accommodate Adam. If not Carver I really can't see that Rafiq is sufficiently better than Lyth as a spinner to justify his place.

Coad

September 15 2017, 5:50 PM

Coad has to come in I would have thought.

Brooks seemed to have at least one decent spell but it's difficult to judge the bowlers on that pitch.

Leave it to the selection panel who will know how they expect the pitch to play.
