Thinking what days to go next week there may be the merest hint that the prevailing wind might shift round a little to the south.

Don't expect anything quite like the mirror has been reporting but hoping it's nothing like Chester-le-Street today.

Hopefully some decent warm weather next week. It was the Mirror that predicted 3 months of snow from November last year, so will take their forecast with a hugh pinch of salt.

Best possible outcomes.

We have to win obviously but in a perfect world we need to come out of the game with 13 more points than both Middlesex and Somerset.

That would allow them to have their own private war at Taunton the following week.

Hants v Essex
Middx v Lancs
Surrey v Soms
Yorks v Warks.

Should be a good weeks cricket with only Essex and Lancashire able to relax.

Let us hope the weather gods are kind to everyone.

Derby v Kent at Chesterfield

September cricket at outgrounds took another hit today.

No play due to a wet outfield at Queens Park today. With their history it could be wet all match.

Luckily Kent have dropped out of contention for promotion but I bet they are still pretty dis-chuffed.
