Talking

September 21 2017, 9:02 AM

Looks like little chance of anything but a T20 in the evening which will suit the Windies.

My only concern is how long R5SX talk about nothing very important rather than putting commentary on of the County Championship.

Charlie Dagnall spent what seemed like hours talking to his old mate Paul Nixon on Tuesday when live cricket was available.

Yes, and did you notice? Not one question about Watergate.

Have tickets for this today. Weather here at the moment really dull & overcast. Will make my way down to Trent Bridge later but aren't really too confident I'll see much play.

Mistaken identity

Didn't realise it was that Nixon, I thought it was that bald headed conjurer chappy who does the magic tricks.

I was at a second-team match and this bloke told me Nixon was a big Lancashire fan. Actually had a picture of Johnny Tyledsley in the Oval Office...

I've just started Nico autobiography and it's entertaining read.

He always struck me as a pain to play against but he has clearly made friends from the game as the forewords are written by Viv Richards and Steve Waugh.

He is a Cumbrian farmers son and played club cricket in one of the (but not The) Lancashire leagues so supporting them makes sense

And Bairstows failure at top of the order will surely see him dropped

Collatoral damage

September 21 2017, 10:03 PM

I do like to listen to the ODI's and watch the highlights, but.

Perhaps it might not be a disaster if all these matches were washed out, hopefully early before the fans travel.

It might get it through to the ECB that playing cricket at the back end of September is a very risky business indeed.
