Thank you, Jolly D. I was preparing to post something along those lines, but you've saved me the time.

People making something out of nothing

Just read the YP article and I can't find anything in it that you wouldn't expect or that was controversial in any way.

Going to take a long sabbatical from the forum now until the new season is on the horizon.

Expect we will be in roughly the same place, maybe with a touch of optimism, come March.

Rugby season finishing too.

Good luck on Saturday Stu, Cas deserve to win, hope they don't, but that's how it is.

That article from the Yorkshire Post could not read more of a Press Release from Yorkshire CCC if it tried. Even King Arthur is questioining the players mindset, while the coaching staff are free from scrutiny.

Rather disappointing a domestic player won't be signed when the just departed Will Rhodes has yet to be replaced. If no Overseas player is signed and Gary Ballance is still part of the England test squad in New Zealand, then Yorkshire face the prospect of starting the 2018 season with just four senior batsmen. If players are asked to respond next year, they need to go into matches with no off-field pressure.

“It’s easy to blame coaches, but it’s players who take all the plaudits when you win something, and, I believe, it’s players who should take responsibility when things don’t go well".

Nonsense this bit. JG rightly received plenty of plaudits, as is Silverwood now.

There is nothing in the Club's post season statements, including those of the coach, which give any signs of recognition that urgent attention is needed to upgrade our playing staff, restore team morale and make plans for improvement for next season. Complacency and hibernation are words that come to mind and the outcome is our likely relegation, with no one day success. Several senior players are unlikely to go on for much more than one season eg Bresnan, Brooks, Patterson, Hodd and Lees. There are others like Plunkett and Willey who seem to be one day players and there are dangers that we could lose others eg Rashid and fringe players. Other prosperous counties could well come looking at young players like Coad, Fisher and Brook.
