Think my comparison was Warne's record in India early in his career. Rash had better stats at the same point in time. Certainly don't think he's a better bowler!

Mentioned at the time. Warne had barely played any First class Cricket. Rashid well over 100 matches and still averaged 35 with the ball. Wasnt there a Rashid os better than Swann thread too 😂

I hadn't realised this forum had turned into the Daily Mail! Context is everything isn't it. I THINK the point I was trying to make was that it would be harsh to judge Rashid on sub-continental performances (plus the middle East) alone. Other better (yes better!) bowlers have struggled when they have toured there for the first time (agreed - Warne was inexperienced but Swann was in his late 20s). If I said that Rashid was a better bowler than Swann etc, then this was obviously tongue in cheek.

Hello
Sometime White Rose Forum contributor Phil here. I'm on my travels to AUS trying to push the number of different Australian Beers I've swilled to 500. (Currently 373 Not Out). I've been at the first two days of this Townsville Tour Match. Watching Ballance ferry water bottles & towels out to the middle & around the boundary. Anyway. My Blog is more of a "Cricket Colour" affair, than in depth analysis. With swearing....
I'll try & cram some YCCC parochial stuff in when I can.

Shaun Marsh is in the Australian side for the first test, as is Handscomb.

Well. Today at this Tour Match I watched Andrew Symonds interview two American Professional Bull Riders. And, I was invited to draw the Business Card Raffle after a three hour free bar. An unusual day....

So it appears Shaun Marsh gets an Australian recall on the back of scoring runs for Yorkshire in the County Chapmionship, along with scoring slowly in the Natwest Blast.

Now that Matt Renshaw has been omitted from the Australian team, he may well become a possible Overseas target.
