Very interesting reports coming out of Australia. Wonder if those so quick to slam Stokes will do the same to Jonny, if true.

Kept very quiet

Fox news eh, I'll believe it might have happened if a proper news organisation makes the claim.

Otherwise I'll park it next to that double decker bus spotted on the moon.

Take his central contract away and ban him from playing for England for at least a year I say wink.gif

Do the same to Root for letting it happen on his watch as well.

If he's actually done this (I stress "if"), then he's actually achieved the remarkable feat of being dumber than Stokes.

EYT----"Very interesting reports coming out of Australia. Wonder if those so quick to slam Stokes will do the same to Jonny, if true."

I expect Jonny to be treated exactly the same as any other cricketer by the ECB, by the comments passed, and by the due process of Aussie law for doing a similar thing as Stokes did. You are not implying that Yorkshire folk are baised to their own, are you, EYT. Never!!😊😊

IF true, a very dumb thing to do, a lot worse than the Stokes affair. He might get deported!!😊

Is it wrong for me to hope it's true and for Jonny to be dropped by the ECB for a year. Then he could actually play for Yorks

Johhny Bairstow in alleged head-butting incident

November 26 2017, 2:42 PM

Dependent on the facts, the correct analogy may be with the Warner/Root incident in a Birmingham Night Club four years ago. Warner was suspended by Cricket Australia from the remainder of the Champions Trophy but was selected to play in the following Test v England.

There is a distinction from the Stokes case in that Stokes was detained by police and spent part of the night in a police cell. He may still be on police bail pending a charging decision.

Mother Theresa

November 26 2017, 2:52 PM

I can only assume that Bancroft called Mother Theresa a slapper and the ever gallant Jonny came to her defence!.

Latest I heard their heads came together in a friendly way, it's legal these days I hear!

Sound like not very much to me, lets hear the full story, obviously the police weren't involved.

Absolutely nothing in this if you believe the reports. If anything, Warner should be collared for subsequent sledging.
Nevertheless, I'm in favour of all Yorkshire players being unjustly banned from playing for England and confined to county duties, thus guaranteeing a half decent season next year.

I see Handscombe was involved in the sledging. A simple retort about his wicket keeping abilities, or lack of, while at Yorkshire would have been a suitable reply I feel.

Handscombe is never backward in coming forward ... except when he's batting

It all seems innocuous based on the Mail article and much ado about nothing so why ring up now? Oh to put Johnny off his game of course at a crucial stage of the test.

No complaints at the time, no police involved and they continued drinking together.

Meanwhile in other news Joe Root is in trouble for telling a young lad he didn't have time to sign his autograph and Garry Ballance has been a naughty boy for not saying thank you to a barmaid serving him a beer.
