Re: Future of International Cricket at Headingley

I think Yorkshire will do well to become a top four international cricket ground on the circuit.

Lords and The Oval are wanting to increase venue capacity between 30,000 and 40,000. Edgbaston is a fine venue to host high profile cricket matches, only issue is public transport between city centre and the ground. Old Trafford is streets ahead of Headingley who have significant off-field and off season revenue streams, not to mention the amount of blue chip companies sponsoring Lancashire CCC. Trent Bridge might have a lower capacity than Headingley, but it's another fine venue in a fine city.

That said Yorkshire are overdue for some high profile test fixtures, just being awarded South Africa and Australia this decade is an insult when the county offers so much to the national and domestic game in terms of producing players for Team England.
