Best wishes for Christmas and 2018 to everyone here at WRF.
I had a think about who I might invite round, from any era of cricket, for a Christmas meal.
Opted for Herbert Sutcliffe, Sachin Tendulkar and Sue Metcalfe.
Who would you want to invite?

Yorkshire cricket christmas dinner.

I'd invite Mason Crane to Christmas dinner this year, that way I could be sure he couldn't get back to Australia in time for the boxing day test.

Otherwise certainly players from another era whose views, attitude and motivation for playing cricket I'd like to hear.

Lord Hawke, Herbert Sutcliffe, George Hirst to name but 3.

Sir Leonard Hutton.
We wouldn't talk much - just sit in contented and amiable silence.

Fred, Boycs and Closey but then the diversity and inclusion police would frown at me so I'll let Bumble come and do the washing up

I'd go a long way to avoid Christmas Dinner with Dickie. There are only about half a dozen things he ever says, and we've heard them all dozens of times before.

If you invite Dickie for dinner then you’d better make sure you have food in for his breakfast too as he is notorious for arriving early
