Later that day before Bosco and Monroe startedtheir shift together, he ran into Faith, or as he began to call her...Detective Yokas. Something about Faith had changed ever since she got promoted. Bosco was satisfied being a regular beat cop. He enjoyed the thrill of chasing perps for a mile and getting in on some street action.
"Hey, Bosco?" she said. He nodded at her.
"What's up, Yokas?"
"Slow day. Hey can I ask you somethin?"
"Shoot," he said, while signing a report at the desk, from the other day.
"Is there somethin goin on with Sargent Cruz?" she asked, catching him off gaurd.
He paused and slowly turned his head. "Like what?" he asked her, suspiciously.
"I don't know, you tell me. She just seems like she's up to somethin again, and since you know her better than I do, I thought maybe.."
"You thought maybe I'd be willin to rat her out so you can tell the lieutenant, right?" he cut her off.
"What? No. Bosco- -" she tried to reason with him, but he kept going.
"Look if you two got issues with each other from the past or..or whatever, keep me out of it this time. I'm done with these cat and mouse games around here. Why don't you worry about your own job as a detective, and leave Cruz alone. If she were 'doin 'somethin dirty, I'm sure we'd hear about it," he told her.
Faith looked at him with a quirked eyebrow. For someone who had just broken up with her, and despised her afterwards, he sure was fooling her.
"I've seen you goin up to anti-crime a lot," she said, "Just thought I'd ask...you know, you were the one who said you couldn't trust her. So what, are you like 'sleepin with her again?"
Bosco's jaw dropped and he looked at her incredulously. "Are you kiddin me?" he exclaimed. "A'right, you know what? I'm through talkin about this with you. I got work to do. Just stay out of it, okay?"
With that, Bosco grabbed his gear and headed out to his RMP, Monroe not far behind him. It had really bothered him when she asked him if they were sleeping together again. Even if they were, it was nobody's business. 'Great, now she's on to me too,' he thought, 'If she sees that Cruz is pregnant, our cover is blown.'
During their rounds that day, Monroe asked him something too.
"Are you sure you're alright?" she asked.
"Yeah," he said, sounding very irritated now, "I'm fine. Why's everybody keep askin me that today? Is there some kinda bet or a pool goin around that I should be aware of?"
Monroe laughed. "Like what?!" she said, still laughing in amusement.
"Nevermind," he shook his head, sighing heavily.
"Hey, Cruz and I are gonna get pizza after the shift or somethin, you wanna come?" she asked.
Bosco looked at her surprised, and quirked his eyebrow. "You and Cruz?"
"Yeah," she said, "I'm gonna ask Ty if he'll come too, so you should..join us."
"Oh right, I get it," Bosco chuckled sarcastcially.
"What?" she asked, innocently.
"This is a set-up," he said, glancing at her cautiously.
"A set-up? Oh geez, Bosco, would you relax? It was just a suggestion, okay?" she said.
"You're trying to get me and Cruz get back together, aren't you?" he said to her.
Monroe sighed and threw her hands up. "Alright, I'm sorry I even mentioned it. It was just a suggestion. Just forget about it....God, you can be so- -"
"Charming?" he said, smirking at her as he drives.
"No," she said, barely able to finish the word, before he gave her another adjective.
"Sexy?"
"Too cocky!" she corrected him, laughing as she shook her head.
"Alright, fine, I'll go," he said, "But don't pull any fast ones on either of us, or I'm 'leavin."
"You have my word," she said, putting her right hand up.
Bosco knew he had to go with them, because he couldn't let Monroe find out that he and Cruz were having a kid together. He wondered why she even said yes to going with her that night. She was starting to show now, and Monroe could easily tell. She was a woman herself.
