Family Affair *Ch. 7*

When Sasha and Ty saw Bosco escorting Cruz into the diner together, they quirked eyebrows at one another.
"Are they back together?" Ty asked. "Or is this some kind of undercover thing, cause the last time I checked...they kinda hated each other's guts."
"As far as I know, they are not together," Monroe told him, "Oh and don't talk about it with them either, cause Bosco said he's gonna leave if anyone does."
"Somehow I think I can go without gossiping like teenagers with Sargent Cruz for an entire dinner," he said sarcastically, looking at her with a sort of cocky looking grin. Sasha rolled her eyes and took another sip of her daquiri.

Bosco and Cruz approached them and sat down. They were sitting at the mini bar there.
"Hey guys," Bosco said, nodding at Ty, "Davis, how's life?"
"Oh I can't complain," he said, sipping his ice cold Corona with lime.
"Yeah?" said Bosco, nodding again, "Good. At least one of us isn't."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Cruz said, nearly attacking him with her words. He turned to her and privately gave her a glare insinuating she was already throwing them hints with her mood swings. But Cruz just stared at him with a pissed off look.
"Nothin," he said, "Why do you care anyway?"

He wasn't purposely being mean to her. But he figured that she would play along too, since it was the only way to keep their secret from everybody. If they thought Bosco and Cruz still hated each other, then they wouldn't suspect him to be the father of her unborn baby, let alone suspect her to be pregnant at all.

"Fuck you," she muttered, turning her attention on Sasha now.
"Here, Cruz, I got you a margarita. I think it's strawberry flavored, but I'm not sure. Guess you'll find out," said Sasha.

Cruz looked over at Bosco nervously, and he had the same expression.
"Oh..actually you know what? I'm just gonna get a Sprite or somethin, I'm not really in the mood for alcohol tonight," Cruz said, saving herself in the best way she knew how.
Monroe seemed to pause with a moment of surprise. "Okay," she said, shrugging, "Anybody else want it?"
"Not me," Ty said, still working on his Corona.
"Eh, what the hell, give it to me, I'll drink it," Bosco said, as Cruz shot him a deadly glare.

Who the hell does he think he is?! she thought to herself. He's the reason I can't be drinking that margarita right now, and then he rubs it in my face!

Cruz got her soda from the bar, and then they stood up to find a table to eat at. With Sasha and Ty walking in front of them, Cruz angrily whispered in Bosco's ear, "Ooh you are so gonna be payin for that one, Boscorelli."
"Why let it go to waste?" he said, casually, smirking to himself.
Cruz stopped walking for a minute and then sneered at him from behind. Cocky bastard, she thought. Let's see how he feels about takin this from me, as she walked up close behind him and pinched the back of his arm extremely hard, right where the sensitive part of the skin was.
"OWW!" he yelped, turning his head around quickly, and glaring at her in shock. "What the hell was that for?!"
"Oh, I think you know," she said, casually to him, as she flashed him that bitchy grin, and walked past him.

Shaking his head all the way back to the table, he was staring daggers at the back of Cruz's head. She just took her seat in the booth, smiling proudly to herself, and sipped her coke while she looked at the menu. Ty and Sasha sat together on the other side of the table, so Bosco was forced to sit next to Cruz. But he wasn't exactly thrilled about that right now.
"Davis, what're you 'orderin?" Bosco asked, scanning the menu.
"Actually I'm not that hungry," he said, "I'll just get one of them BLT sandwiches."
"Ooo, that sounds good baby," Monroe said with a smile.
"Yeah," he grinned devilishly at her, "I'm 'savin room for dessert."

Bosco nearly spit his drink out, and Cruz just sort of let that comment fly past her.
"Alright, no offense, but I really don't need those kind of visuals right before I eat, a'rite?" said Bosco, putting his hands up in front of him, "I mean...I thought I'd be done listening to that, since Faith and I aren't 'ridin together no more."
"Sorry, man, couldn't help myself," said Ty, amused at Bosco's disgust with the subject.
"Well in that case," said Bosco, taking a bite of a burger that had just arrived for him, "Do take offense to it."
"Alright and while he's 'doin that, you can stop talkin to everybody with a mouth full of slaughtered cow," Cruz mumbled to him.
While Monroe just shivered at her choice of words, Bosco stared at her, his mouth still half full, and then said with a blank expression and tone, "Thanks, mommy."

Normally Cruz would roll her eyes or call him an idiot, but hearing him call her mommy just made her spine tingle. Cruz was quiet for most of the dinner that night. She was too pissed off at Bosco, and luckily, no one had noticed her tiny baby belly. But Bosco was unsure if he even wanted to offer to drive her home that night, instead of just letting her get her car at the precinct.
