Vert antennasbyI found ur rmx abt Gap vertical antennas very interesting.. I have used verts for mni years and I have 2 commercial verticals up. Really I find no difference between them and my wire verts hanging from my tower. Each wire vert is cut for a particular band and goes thru my ATU. I also have a 3 el tribander and a monobander on 17 meters. There are some days that the vert scores on Dx over the beam but most days the beam gives stronger sigs but more Qrm from a particular direction. All in all a wire vertical is as good as any commercial vertical and is much cheaper..Modifications can be made easily. Every dwelling can accommodate a wire vertical with a little inginuity. 73 Norman from IP address 209.148.202.48 Goto Forum Home |
