Gaining more hams

by

I would like to add a comment on your article about promoting amateur radio. I enjoyed the article alot. I grew up around several "older" seasoned hams and I can appreciate what they had to learn to become a ham. But you are right, I for one am not about to take the time to learn morse code at 13 wpm just to get a General class license. Forget it!!! I am also one who has two kids, my wife does not work outside the home and I'm just trying to find how to justify a $250.00 2 meter mobile much less a $3,000 HF rig! I am a Technician Plus and I enjoyed learning and passing the 5 wpm morse code, but it's time has gone. Let's continue to look for ways for people to grow! Thanks for your article. Mark G.
