Field strength readingsby KB8QPE
A good idea, Dino! I mas more or less referring to the 'paper' 'legaleze' end of the compliance with my statements, and you are right, maybe we hams have been trying to 'model' our setups a little 'too' much by computer, and field strength readings would be certainly more appropriate to each individual setting... what I am dreading to see, but I am sure that we will see some day, is a suit from some "neighbor" against a ham, boy I can see that would be a real mess! here is a guy with a big antenna, amp and all, and the 'other side" brings a few 'expert' witnesses in to 'testify' about the potential 'harm' that may have been done, and then add all of the 'mental anguish' over this 'terrible injustice', makes me glad that I run 4 watts! It's going to be a shame if amateur radio has to always be 'low profile', because that gives it the false veneer of being a 'bad' activity. I would be afraid nowadays in some neighborhoods have ham tags on my car--not because of 'advertising' to get it all stolen out of the car, but to 'advertise' for a law suit! Or at least a complaint that 'I' am causing everybody to have interference....and when ham radio can't 'advertise', we can't attract new people, and MORE idiots will write condo rules that make the situation worse..
