beating this horse (was licensing too hard)

Look,
I don't want to be totally offensive, but this is the USA...
I'm Proud today to say I'm a Recovering CBer.
In my honest (read brutal) opinion... CB is
for those people who suffer from FEAR.
The most I've met, are scared to face the fact that they are on a band that is formerly Amateur,
that they don't really understand how that shiny
noisebox really works, and don't want to be told
anything by anyone at all.
I have used 75-ohm CATV Cable for feedline, and
thought it was ok, I have had echo, roger beep,
unlocked clarifier, and even gone into no man's land to get away from the wide-banded idiots on 6 and 19, blew up TV's from 300watts of linear power, and cussed blue flames on the air.
That all changed when I learned that I could get a license for $6.50, a little studying, and could get equipment cheaply.
You see, I found out that there are more nice people on Ham Radio than on the "local" CB.
So y'all say whatever you want, but your excuses for not upgrading hold no water here.
Y'all are more limited, 4W PEP legally, and only the 40 "Real Channels" your shiny radios
come with, and you are subject to FCC rules, too.
As a no-code Tech, I have priveleges starting
at 50Mhz, and going as high as visible light.
Gee, I can legally turn a light on now :-)
And everything I needed to get licensed cost less than a CB antenna at radio shack!
