VHDS and HF

It occurs to me that this issue should be opened, not only with ARRL, but also with MARS and CAP operators, and the Fed SHARES HF program. The combined weight of DoD, the other Fed agencies, and the ARRL might be enough to insist that at the very least that this stuff be treated like CATV (e.g. fairly rigorous noise ceiling standards with a mechanism to demand compliance).

I for one certainly won't surrender without a fight; however, I am also aware of the enormous hunger for dollars that the telcos have, and that they honestly see a threat to their monopoly of telco services. This is silly because there isn't a CATV system on the planet that in any way approaches the reliability of the existing telephone system. It's hard to explain this to investors, though...
