Dear Ed,

All I can say as to the below snip from your post is WOW! :-))

Honestly, this would be the best thing that ever happened to CW usage, imho. Finally, CW will be freed from being the "boogy man" of the Amateur Radio Service and can be pursued by the CW enthusiasts simply for the fun and enjoyment of it, just like any other mode in the ARS. Now lets see them beef up them written tests the way they should.

Also, I want to thank you for making this forum available. I have enjoyed it and the website.

"Next week we my finally hear back on license restructuring (a feat that I think is about 10 years too late). Prognostication from a lot of people, including ex-FCC staff, ex-ARRL officials who've worked with the FCC in the past (and have been quoted on various web postings) are saying that the rules are likely to come out as:

1) Tech/General, 0 wpm and 5 wpm (HF per ITU requirements)
2) Tech/General/Extra, 0, 5 and 5

What I'm seeing is that the ARRL proposal may be DOA (that was a Tech/General/Adv/Extra with a 0,5,12,12 combo)."
