very true

Ed,

I agree. And from your post "But what ever - its not since discussing these particular items now since a license restructuring ruling will likely come out next week and it will probably be another 5 or 10 years before the FCC is interested in reconsidering any further changes. So we will live with whatever they decide, based on the public input." Oh how very true it is!

My main thrust of interest at the moment is reestablishing the amateur radio presence in my home community. The local HAM club more or less folded a year or two back. However, another ham and I were on the phone for about an hour this evening discussing how to revive it and what our vision for such a club would be. We want to make sure that we let the community knows (other than our monstrosities of antennas) that we are around and willing and able to serve our community with our communications skills and equipment. We also want to reestablish some of the fractured fellowship of the amateur radio community in our area, i.e. its time that the hams enjoy what they have in common and not be at each others throats.

Keep up the good work, Ed.
