First off, the 10-1 is geared upon man to man play. However, what helps is that you use your players to line up in the gaps at the line of scrimmage. The more players you have at the line of scrimmage, the more the defense is going to have to block before getting past the line of scrimmage. If your players are able to keep the holes filled, then the offense has no where to go.
Just a warning. The 10-1 is a good defense and easy to learn for the younger players. However, it isn't the "golden formation". It does have a lot of followers here.
