the sear sits atop the spring and has a gritty kind of feel as you pull the trigger. Once the trigger breaks pulling past the let off point can cause one to open up shot groups. Plastic parts are good for this mod as they are easy to shape without fancy machine tools. I have a soda straw inside the spring in one of my early trigger mods. Combined with a lighter spring and a piece of a ball point pen on top, for the sear to rest on, it still works fine a year later. Many ways to do these mods.
