A suggestion offered to aftermarket Crosman breech makers.

If the slot milled for the cocking pin were extended back to break into the front edge of the vertical hole for the rear screw, then the slot in the body tube could be similarly extended.

Then the cocking pin could be removed and installed through the screw hole.

This would make it possible to remove the hammer without removing the breech.
