"appliance epoxy" works well, but for added durability I give the grip frames
a coat of catalyzed urethane clear over top of the black. expensive stuff, cost about $40 for a quart ( smallest amount you can get ) .
You get it from an automotive paint store. It is a two part mix, 4 parts clear to 1 part hardener.
You can use an air brush to apply it, that way you only have to mix up a table spoon full and can do a few grip frames with that amount.
