Just finished up a mod I have been planning then assembling for quite some time. Ever since I saw those new "Crosmods" parts offerings, I knew I was in trouble...
Anyway, this is how my little 2240 evolved:
Not much of the Crosman left here, but it's still a 2250 base:
The mod includes a 16" Crosman .22cal barrel re-crowned from Mellon Air, the Crosmods Breech/Trigger Frame/Composite Grip/Shroud/4 Baffle treatment, Boss Valve from B&A, Pro-Top Valve Cap from Anthony, 2250B main tube, SS long bolt probe from Mellon Air, a nice Tipmann 98 Folding Stock, and my home made walnut foregrip.
The foregrip was made from two halves of walnut routed to fit over the main tube, glued back together, and then feathered into the trigger frame. There are two 1/4" set screws which go up through the bottom of the grip to snug it against the main tube. The grip was a fairly snug fit on the tube, so all the set screws do is keep it from sliding horizontally. I also keyed the back of the foregrip so it overlaps the trigger frame by 1/8" to lock it in vertically.
Freehand shooting, this thing is consistently accurate to within a an inch out at the 20-25 yard mark. I love the feel of the Crosmods trigger, nice and smooth with very light pull. I have not tried to chrony it yet, but it's hitting nice and hard. And talk about back yard friendly, NICE!!!
My new favorite for those very quite days!!
Thanks to all you "Artists" out there who dream up and provide ways to modify these Crosman 22xx and 13xx frames!!!
This is really my last one.........
