I drilled a hole in my plastic breech and tapped it...held my barrel very nicely... a little care will avoid any bumping....Sure the steel breech allows more rigid scope mounting, it ALSO costs $40.00 and weighs like 6 times more than the plastic one...a lot depends on what you are going to use the gun for, too.
