When you have lemons, you make lemonade.
When you have a broken 760 and a broken 761XL, you make a 760.5
I took the best of each and combined them into this neat little shooter. The 760 donated the most, as I also had a rebuild kit for it. The 761XL contributed the great stock and the rifled barrel.
I really dont feel bad about cannibalizing these two to make one. They had been sitting in my cabinet long enough for me to know that I needed to move on them or risk never moving at all. Both guns had been won at auction for cheap. The previous owner of the 760 had sawed off the stock so much that it resembled Steve McQueens Mares Laig (you younger readers can Google that one! LOL). The 761s receiver was beat up, and the pump tube was rough, but the wood was decent.
I little work (my first pumper rebuild), a little paint, and a little polish.
Oh, and Happy Fathers day to all us Dads!
