Response to Box ( er.... plastic shrink ) stock 2240 ?
Upped the hammer spring, and a new powerlet.
Took 5 shots to pierce the powerlet.
Fastest I see is 392.
Called Crosman. Told her I'd had the gun about 10 minutes before
I polished the sear, and changed the trigger spring.
Probably blew my warranty, huh ?
She asked me if I had all the pieces parts, and could put it back
the way it was shipped, except for the polish on the sear and trigger of course.
I said yes, I could. She said they would honor their warranty for the full year,
and gave me all the info how to send it back to Crosman, etc.
She then asked where I bought it, and the serial number. I said Amazon.com.
She suggested I try an exchange through Amazon.
My exchange period expired two days ago. Damn !
Anyhow, I tried Amazon live chat. Told the guy it mostly works, but not completely,
and the lady at Crosman agrees it's "not right."
He asked me what I wanted. I responded an exact replacement. Another 2240.
He said it should be here Saturday, no charge. ( it's Thursday today )
Then he gave me a link to return the one I have.
The link is a parcel post pre-paid shipping label !!
SO, we don't know exactly why this one took 46 shots to pierce a powerlet,
five shots with near double the hammer spring, and still shoots below 400 fps,
and never will really, but we have a replacement on the way, an EXTREMELY high
recommendation for Amazon.com from me, and a very happy Crosman customer even
if the replacement turns out the same.
Warranty, even after I told 'em I dinked with it's internals. Unheard of !
