muzzle report that is
yesterday evening, just before dark, I wandered out into the feild next to the lab. Nearest building, 75 yards away. Shot in a safe direction into the dirt. some pop and crack, but not bad.
I need to remember to do a test like that occasionally cuz shooting inside at the studio means a shot in an acoustically reflective environment (concrete floor, drywall, OSB walls and garage door). And even worse in my workspace, cuz its all of the above and the room is only 12 x 14.
I'm thinking there is a threshold, the Mrod only pings in the same rooms, and outside is even quieter. So the Prod is not quite there yet. But its not as bad as it sounds (pun intended) outside away from reflective surfaces. But that crimps "backyard friendly" since you'll have a house, shed, garage, probably some fence, cars...... all reflecting that sonic energy back to you ( or worse yer neighbors...)
