Rob is refering to my cave-dan attempt at making a side focus wheel for my new scope. I'm using this white plastic stuff (mentioned in the thread about threading plastic) I snagged from the carpenters scrap box at work they used to build a rest room stall. Good dense stuff, works well if your patience, otherwise the tools just melt it.....
I had built a jig (which Ive discovered is a lot of fun to do) to cut the square bit into a round shape, used a compass, sharpie and circle guide to layout the holes and forstner bits to cut/drill most of them. Smaller holes With regualr twist bits. I "carved" the hollow spots out on the back with my laminate trim router and a 3/4 burr bit. Got a workshop full of white plastic chips and flakes.
The stuff is brillinat white, seemingly glows in the dark (and very well may ). Giving its purpose, I stillhave soem concern if anything will stick to it other than magic marker amd duct tape
And betweent he Journey and CCR/Tina Turner refernces, now all this tunes with "wheel" in it are starting to play in my head. Thanx guys, that'll take time to get out of my head
