Got lucky on that one Justin
bone stock m rod, with a Leapers 6-24x50 IR SWAT with sidewheel, A generic AR "sniper" grip, an ATI buttstcok and cheek peice from an AK47 kit/set that I was gonna use on a B3-1 build, a NcStar bipod, handa carfted walnut wooded forearm (not part of the orgianl stock) and one of my prized possesions, a Rob Taylor Teryx stock in red. Thats how its built up in the pic
Last December, knowing the FT nationals are gonna be in Grants Pass Oregon this year, I started rebuilding the gun with an eye to a pure target setup. Ive swapped out the sniper grip for a MagPul "SAW" type grip, changed the scope to a IJK optics 10-40x50 with red, green or blue (yes blue) IR mildot with hatch lines instead of dots, the aftorementioned monster wheel, a riser block to lift it ~3/4 inch and a custom butt hook.
The gun, as pictured was an ungainly beast that was top heavy and wanted to rotate left or right along an axis paralellto but slightly lower than the bore. You fought that rotation with your grip hand and accuracy suffered sometimes. I chanaged the grip partaqilly for the same reason, but also because when I was in my FT harness, the shelf on the sniper grip would be interferede with by the straps, The MAgPul grip is not as egronomic but I like the way it feels in my hand, and its ~inch shorter with less contact with the strap.
The Teryx stock, in red, is the only red one in the world. Ironically, Rob Talors shop is just up the road (eh 150 miles-ish, just next door by montana standards) in Florence, this side of Missoula. I talked to Rob while he was gearing up to build these, and I said flippantly I wnat one in red. The stock is _very_ versatil, but needed the foregrip to make it better for FT. Under the walnut, is a long Picatinny rail .
Ive extincted a couple of gopher colonies with it. Off a bag or the bipod out the windows of the shop, its a laserbeam. Off my knee in FT, if I do my part its very good. Biggest obstacle to accuracy is the loose nut behind the trigger
I'll have pics in its currnet FT specific build up when I get back from Gran Teton National park either sunday night or monday night
