Crosman 2240, 2250, and 2250XT

I was wondering which Crosman to mod and had a few questions about each for you in the know.

So the Crosman 2240 .22 at 460 fps stock is a good mod base, does it differ in its guts from the 2250, or is the 2250 the same, just with longer barrel, bigger valve, etc? How does the 2250XT differ? It has the 88gr c02 bottle on the back instead of loading from the front like the 2240 and 2250. Can you use the same mods on the 2250XT as you can the other two?

What kind of power and you get from modding each of the guns, do they all come out the same, some where in the 650 – 750 fps range, or would one model stand out above the rest?

My goal is to get a 2250XT and try to mod it to the 700+ fps range, longer barrel, add some of the neat items I’ve found on the web (valves, seers, springs, etc).

What are your experiences with these airguns?

If anyone has a 2250XT manual and schematic they could e-mail me I'd appreciate it.

I have both.. At 70 degrees with 12 gram co2 the 2250 with a 18 inch barrel has a velosity of 505 fps crosman prem. The 2250xt with a 9 oz co2 bottle added & a 14 in barrel . 550 fps. Both gun are stock and .22 cal. The 2250 has a completely different valve assy and side step transfer port system....
So which to mod... Many options for moding the 2250 not so many for the xt. but I have to tell you.. do like the 2250 xt....& the zillion shots per bottle..... Sorry no booklete for the xt...
Good luck and let us all know what you are doing... George in the cold country...of Idaho

That is the 2250B, not the 2250XT, apparently they are very different. Alan from AB Airgun sent me a 2250XT schematic, but it is difficult for me to put two and two together with. After looking at it Georges comments about the transfer port, it makes more sense, but I still don't quite get how it opperates. Can anyone enlighten me?
