Finally, my Benjamin pump came today...ordered six weeks ago.
I pumped my gun to 2000 psi and took a couple shots over the chrony. I was impressed with the high 700+ velocity, but was wondering what else it could do. So I then pumped it to 3000 psi and shot it to empty, recording the results.
I then pumped it to 2000 psi and did a 10 shot recording.
Here are the numbers :
from a 3000 psi fill ( all shots with pointed crosman 14.3 grn, chrony six feet from muzzle )

I then sited in the scope on a target mounted to the same 3/4 inch plywood board I had been shooting at over the chrony.....too my suprise, many of the pellets had blown right through.....this plywood was at a meaqsured 20 yards.
for those who missed it, this gun is exactly one half ( the front )of a discovery rifle tube. It has the same discovery valve and hammer.
I changed the valve spring before I ever shot it, and the hammer spring is my own arangment ( has two springs ). It has a 14 inch .22 crosman barrel sitting in a Crooked Barn breech. The grips are custom one pice ( by me ) and finished in Danish oil. The hammer has it's own cocking knob and the bolt is seperate and only for pushing in the pellet.
Think I might try even MORE hammer spring, see if I can get this pistol to break 900 fps with 14.3.............
