I was given a Benjamin Rocket .22 awhile back and told that it didn't hold air. I tested it out yesterday, (found that it leaked), tried to disassemble it, but couldn't get to the valve. So in a bit of desperation I squirted a big smear of silicon grease into the tube, loaded up a CO2 bulb and whadaya know? It sealed and has been holding a charge for hours now.

So here's the new problem I face. I've got this kind of neat little CO2 pistol that only takes 8g CO2 cartridges. Given their price and availability, that means when the few I've got are gone the gun will probably never be shot again. I slipped in a 12g powerlet, but it was pretty obvious it couldn't be easily adapted.

So I'm wondering if there's some sort of end cap available for these things that would allow for a bulk fill. The valve is already sealed to the tube, so all it would take is a cap. I checked the cap from my 2240 and the threads are different.

I would give him a call and see if he has any before changing that pistol as it is a collectable of sorts. They are nice pistols.

Not practical

The size of the tube needs to be bigger to get the kind of shot count and consistency a bulk gun is worth altering. Generally if you have a tube equal in volume to a couple of CO2 cartridges or set it up with a Hnagy tank arrangement it would be worth doing. The Benjy has a tube fit for a 8.5 gram cartridge so it isn't going to get a decent number of shots per fill or reasonable consistency if you just fit a Bulk adapter to the tube end.
It is one of those possible things that is a waste of effort at the end of the day.

8 gr

powerlets are available, pyramid air sells them, a guy I know got some at a brewing supply house, I think John Groenwald sells them too. So yours are not the last 8gr powerlets in the world.

A while back, I bought some 8 gr. for my 250 from an on-line source in Florida. Oddly, they were not necked down enough to fit the gun properly, preventing the end cap from being screwed in quite far enough, and resulting in several blown o-rings. And I had purchased 3 boxes of 24 each, since they were such a good price at the time, about $0.30 each. Oh, well, turns out all 8 gr cartridges are not made quite the same. I'll try these in my Benji rocket when I get it re-sealed, maybe they'll work in it.

I ended up buying a 10 pak from Pyramid Air in another order I had made, at about $0.80/powerlet. But these fit, so it is actually a better value.

I'm just saying, shop around and you should be able to find some powerlets to fit that gun.
