Ive bene asked a couple of times lately whats next on the bench. Turns out a simple, short and concise answer is harder to come up with than a multipage manifesto.....
I still see room to improve the 13xx/14xx/22xx/39x platforms. different trigger formats (ie, lose the pistol grip frame) can help stock design and get a better tirgger. Adn losing the grip frame can help ergonomics too. Air paths, transfer ports, barrel work (polish the bore? tensioned barrel? lube pelets?), pwer adjusters...... The little guns do have an absolute limit, but I still think theres a _)big _gap_ between a NIB gun and what a few mods can do for it.
I have a 1400 tube and pump arm.....
I scored a 2100 cheap. That gun has potential.
And of course, I have fiber glass, and some resin..... And 5.9 pounds of 2 part polyurethane resin...... Way cool stuff, but a little trikcier to work with than 'glas is. But it doenst stink like glas resin does.... And allt hat means I can sculpt the perfect stock in blue foam, cast it and go. If it still sucks, carve it to a new perfection and recast. Mcuh cheaper and way faster than working wood. And a hydrodip Kit means you can have camo, XXXX walnut, burl, diamond plate or skulls (and whatever else film patterns you can find)
My 1377 contest gun was a proof of concept for much of the above. It worked, I see potential everywhere in these platforms, and much creative outlet.
