Re: Taxes.....

Was hoping I could claim some of the refund check for airgun stuff, but between plane tickets so my wife can visit her ailing mother and car repairs I'll be lucky to get a tin of pellets out of it!
It's just a hobby anyway, right?
dan house (Login dan_house) Crosman Forum Member 153.90.162.47
Hobby? Did Andy really say that?

Airgunning satisfies a nukmber of creative pursuits and helps keep me sane,a nd relatively human.
Gives the voices in my head something else to work on, and keeps them quiet .....

A hobby is a regular activity or interest that is undertaken for pleasure, typically done during one's leisure time. My hobbies help me relax and keep me sane too.
As much as I enjoy airguns (and "real" guns and old electric trains), I've begun to realize there are more important things in this life. Hobby time and money come out of whatever's left after everyone else is satisfied.

well......
April 5 2012, 10:24 AM
yes. Mods..... my original plan was to get one already tuned. but every time I got close to having the scratch saved, I'd need the money for something else (like my truck, broke again). then someone on the Yellow Disco forum posted about the BigSupply site and price. So I ordered it.
Immediate plans are to chrony it, find a peelt it likes and slap a spare 4x16 centerpoint on it. and maybe a laser. then if LOP is too long, mod the carbine stock to shorten it down some. Grip tape on the stock grips will help some of the ergonomic issues with the carbine stock. Short time mods might be just going thru and smooth/lube tune but will definitley do something if its not as quiet that some say it is. couple of great examples on here for that, and Scot has suggested a couple things to do for SSR..... Oh, and definitely a trigger shoe, assuming its not gonna require a lot of filing to make it fit
Long term? HDD, transfer port, power adjuster, swap trigger packs (and custom synthetic full length stock) , striker and spring tunes,
Saturday will be pel testing, chrony, and a 20-25 yard zero. later that afternoon, I take the fight to the gophers......

what was the shroud idea?? i know they start to really pop at 1800psi in most cases..will you tune for a lower fill pressure like 2500 to save the pumping effort?
dan house (Login dan_house) Crosman Forum Member 153.90.162.47
I'll have to play with fill pressures
April 5 2012, 11:43 AM
Found the Mrod would have partial valve lock at 3000psi, so I'll watch for that ans tart at that pressure and dial it bck as number indicate.
I'll have to track down the shroud mod, but the originator says to push the shourd forward 11/2 inches and use that space for baffles, add more holes in the stripper, and do what Scot said about the "condom" over the diverter. MUST be quiet....
so thats the starting point

Just move it forward, and add a barrel spacer that's fluted to allow more air to go into the void
