Problem With Crosman 2240 Mod (Guide Spring And Brass Adjuster Screw)

Can Any Body Help ?.
Just brought the guide spring and brass adjuster screw.for the crosman 2240.. With it all fitted I can not pull back the action ... Any ideas what the problem could be ?.. Thank You .....
