Kristin Chenoweth to Offer Solo Carnegie Hall Concert
By Andrew Gans
12 Feb 2004

Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth will go it solo at Carnegie Hall in 2005.

Chenoweth, who is currently starring in the hit new musical Wicked, will join the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra on Jan. 25, 2005, for an evening devoted to the Great American Song. Erich Kunzel will conduct the orchestra, and concertgoers can expect to hear tunes by Rodgers and Hart, Leonard Bernstein, Andrew Lippa, Stephen Foster, Ricky Ian Gordon, Meredith Willson and Jerome Kern.

Chenoweth's concert is part of the "Carnegie Hall Goes Pops" series. Show time is 8 PM.

Kristin Chenoweth, who won a Tony Award for her performance in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, made her New York theatrical debut opposite Bill Irwin in a production of Molière's Scapin and followed that with a role in Kander and Ebb's Steel Pier. Roles in Off-Broadway's A New Brain and the City Center Encores! productions of Strike Up the Band and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever ensued. Chenoweth also starred in her own, short-lived TV series "Kristin," and her other TV appearances include roles in "Frasier" and ABC's television adaptation of the musical Annie. She was also featured in the TV production of Meredith Willson's The Music Man.

Carnegie Hall is located in Manhattan at 57th Street and Seventh Avenue. For more information, log on to www.carnegiehall.org.
