Soldiers

I was wondering if the greek army is the only army where the old soldier can **** you badly?

What i mean is what happened in the Greek Special Forces. That when you are “new soldier” (you are in the beginning of your time in the army) the older soldiers (the ones that are more time than you tin the army) with out to be officers or anything else(plain ordinary soldier) can “train” you in any way they desire,. This training has nothing to do with improving your fighting ability but with breaking your morale as much as they can. Is not an official policy of the army but a well established tradition.
One movie of Hollywood had dealt with a similar matter. The movie is the one with tom cruise and jack nilkoson and demy moore, I think is called “few good men”.
I was wondering if in your army the older soldier can has that authority over the new soldier

I think he means what we in Norway called "veteran activity". That the more experienced soldier give the new recruits a hard time.

This was a problem in the Norwegian army in the late eighties and early nineties, but at the time I joined in 1993 they were taking serious measures to get rid of it.

if i understand right then that does'nt work that way in britain. it works purely on rank structure. older soldiers of the same rank as younger ones are usually the ones getting the hard time and heckled with banter

We don't have anything really similar, though "boots", or new guys might get hazed a little when they get to their unit. Most of it just good natured pranks. Of course as the low men on the totem pole, both in rank and in time of service, they also get stuck with a greater percentage of sh*t details.

The American Marine Division has the highest combat effectiveness in the American armed forces. It seems not enough for our four divisions to surround and annihilate its two regiments.
