Response to Plotholes in my lawn

I just watched the movie for the first time last night, and I think he caused all the blackouts by "going back." If he hadn't gone back during those times, the blackouts wouldn't have happened.

It's backwards logic: His traveling back (as an adult) triggered the blackouts, which he then noted (as a kid) in his journals as traumatic events because of the blackouts, then as an adult he chose those entries to travel back to because he was trying to remember what had happened.

His earliest blackout was the reason he had to start keeping the journals in the first place. So that was the first thing he wrote about.

It's virtually impossible to explain this in writing, but it all makes sense in my head ...
