I only saw the film for the first time last night and my bird wouldn't talk about it with me cos she said it was a 'headf**k'. So here I am.
I mostly agree with your interpretation.
The only bit I would pick up on is the father going back to ensure
I think the film implies that each of her three previous babies has gone through the process that Evan has experienced, ie growing up, etc, but that each of them eventually went back and killed themselves as Evan did.
Then, eventually, Evan's father was institutionalised and unable to sow his seed any more, hence no more little Evans.
