My group is being offered 10 year 7.5% Deutsche paper at 65. Does anyone know if this paper would possibly exist in this market at such a discount? (any substantial commercial value)? Or is it another walk down broker alley? Much appreciated...

DB frankly woud have no problem placing such paper, the bank is not in that bad a shape, the devil is in the detail, did they issue without obligo for a third party?, which currency, details of wording etc... but generaly is brokers who work these and get no where, just a higher communications bill

JTS,

Walk away.

I am working with DB and there is no such offer.

Coupons are at max 4.5% currently.

They are very liquid at the moment and are buying other bank's paper.

JTS, the yield to maturity on those DB notes is 14.285%. I can assure you that whilst credit spreads have widened over the past 12 months, DB paper is not trading that wide!

Thank you gentlemen. I figured as much with DB's liquidity as it sits currently. Much appreciated!

Why do you not ask the person offering the paper to you for the indicative term sheet, If you do not get it, then it is pure BS and if you do then you might just have the deal of the century

ISIN code would be welcomed to view the paper on screen. If the paper is not on screen, then ask them: why not.

For the past 36 hours, while waiting for the term sheet, I have heard the "its coming over shortly" line. Its quite comical how when you ask for a term sheet and identifiers, people just get so "busy".

JTS, just out of interest, the people selling this "amazing" bond wouldn't happen to have a name beginning with C?

G Kid, no that is not the person I was dealing with. But who knows, they probably have several aliases. Monday = Phil Tuesday = Harold Wednesday = Frank... Fill in the rest as you see fit. ha. Were you offered something similar??

JTS, no I was asked to source the DB (or another AA rated issuer) bonds to sell to these guys. I tried to explain to them the fundamentals of bond markets and they agreed to purchase some other paper from me. However then they came up with some ludicrous procedures that they wanted me to follow....so I pulled the plug.

I've linked the thread where I queried it on this forum.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/27708/thread/1223479379/last-1223543597/Information+wanted+on+MTN+sales

If you have serious buyers for EMTN's, please let me know. I trade a lot of bonds, often linked to exotic derrivatives, and can get you pretty much what you want.......well, probably not something yielding 14% on AA paper!

You can contact me on thegkid01@googlemail.com

Then i'll give you my proper work email and contact details. For obvious reasons I don't post them up on a public forum!
