I clicked on the "new forum" link, it opens up alot of different options and threads. Where is "this" forum moving to in that matrix?

Is the moderator really going to shut this one down? It's too bad. Many good people, even the ones that like to bicker with each other.

Banking Forum on Reserve-Bank.com

Search "banking forum" on Google. There is not much difference in the location of either of the forums on Google search engine:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=banking+forum

The FORUM.RESERVE-BANK.COM is a normal typical forum with a wide selection of banking topics (sub-forums). You're just used to this outdated forum style at Network54, that is why the other one at phpBB seems advanced to you. Once you get used to it, you will like it.

This N54 27708 forum will probably not get shut down (although it may get down-scaled or may become un-moderated over time), but any self-respecting banker and trader should join and participate in FORUM.RESERVE-BANK.COM rather than 27708@N54. If you wish to be a member of a clean, orderly forum you should go for FORUM.RESERVE-BANK.

VIP Code (needed to join the forum) for FORUM.RESERVE-BANK.COM is "SPAMNOTALLOWED" (without the "").

somewhere else......
I've been posting on the reserve bank forum 787 messages on 773 topics and found that discussions always never happen there. After some postings from shoe and computer sellers and other things (they have been cleaned up now) I found myself messaged on formating and formal issues that I decided that for an info forum I can set up something better with the sapphire forum, where things can be discussed but on a professional level. Both the reserve bank forum and the banking forum here are not really monitored beside some half yearly effort from the owner; which I do not blame him, its just not consistent anyway ..
I had started posting in the reserve bank forum when the forum owner hinted on setting up the reserve bank forum as a replacement, anyway they never changed ....
However there seems to be a new push for the termination of this forum, which is okay, I understand.

Anyhow prior to the new push the forum owner deleted or closed threats and from time to time posted, but did not edit posts. Since under the forum rules I'm not to criticize the moderator, let me say something about technic.

When someone edits a post and does change the content of a posting that fact should be marked for everyone to see; even if the technical side of the forum replaces the poster ID to the moderator but not the login, the moderator can include a warning like this content has been adjusted by the moderator, the simple editing memo in the smallest print is not enough.

The forum rules say that any posting can be edited or deleted, but it still says that the member posting is responsible for his own messages, which when they are edited is a mixed bucket, when the part that is edited is not clearly identified. Since deleting a message does not change the content I never had a problem with that.

Like the forum rules say, we are visitors and have no rights and if we do not like it, we should not use this forum, I tend to limit my postings or do not post at all if what I say in my posting can be adjusted without clear marker, but thats me and as people say I'm notorious difficult.

My other problem is the establishment of the meaning of the word "private". Private seems to relate to privacy and since I believe that someone sacrifices their privacy when posting themselves and that facts in the open public are not part of the privacy area, my angle to the assessment of the meaning seems to be different than that of the forum administration. That fine, since he (she?) sets the rules anyway, so no DD postings anymore.

People know how to find me and since I do not post here for a living or with offers nothing lost. Will look at how this forum works in the future, it got a thinking process started and yes if I post here in the future it will be different

Well, here is the sad reality.

This forum is doomed to be nothing but an empty cyberspace page.

Without us, the participants, this forum will be another useless site. Just like hundred of other forums that sit idle without any input or value to current or future readers.

In a way, the current moderators should have taken schooling on what is proper and what it is not.

The results of their lack of knowledge is obvious to us.

Banking Forum (network54): RIP

Rules to be respected, yet they can be discussed

I understand why some of you are feeling "hurt". Because your posts that violated this forum's (and any other public forum's standard rules) rules were edited or removed. For instance I have recently edited "sapphirecapital's" post by deleting someone's personal names and street address, email and phone number. Once the post was saved this N54 software replaced his ID with "Moderator" which I didn't like (neither I meant to do it) and so I posted a comment about it, to make sure everyone understands that it was edited by a Moderator. That problem made me post more redirecting links to a proper forum.
Yet "sapphirecapital" comments as if I did that maliciously. Folks, if you really respect yourselves, please write and punctuate in a truly professional manner, spell words and form sentences correctly. At least, try your best. You know, a sentence begins with an uppercase letter. Also a sentence ends with a full stop (a dot). Excuse me my English. I try my best too.

P.S. If you don't like certain rules then post a reasonable explanation why you don't like a certain rule and how you propose to change it. Or if you don't understand certain rule, ask, we will try explain it to you.

Regards,

Mod

did I say malicously?, read again..... I said if you do that you can not just say the message was edited, you need to say whats edited because the readers will now not know whats from you and whats from my side even when you say I'm alone responsible for what has been posted under my name, thats all

Just to add, details on whois or in an open online government corporate registers, which include addresses and personal details are not considered private because they are in a public register, it seems that under your interpretation a link to that register information can be posted but not the information in the link; which frankly is your choice and your prerogative.

never mind, like you said its your forum, you do what you want and we are guests, thanks for the time and the place

have a nice day
