I get "offers" to be a paymaster now and then and swiftly decline - under what circumstances would a lawyer want to be a paymaster and what would be in it for the lawyer? Surely the amount of due dilgence the lawyer would have to perform to "know the client and parties" would not be worth the fee?

J Levy,

My suggestion is to let the bank be the paymaster.

It can be done in several ways,

1) Assignment of proceeds

2) CHAPS ( UK only )

3) MT 102 ( Same as MT 103 but to multiple parties )

If it for a securities transaction, then registered traders qualify for

commissions and others get a one ime introduction fee.

For commodities, a fee payment structure / consultancy structure,

whereby the commission agents invoice monthly and is paid via

assignment of proceeds as the fee will be adjusted monthly according

to the Bill of Lading, or deliverables.

The invoicing keeps the books clean and commision agents declare their taxes.

This ensures that all is done aboveboard and it is a clean business.

Accounting and audit trails have to be transparent in the light

of todays world with big brother watching.

Richard safed my ass twice, something to do with me not carrying a license for a bank instrument transaction, learned my lesson, banks are not good if you have no license, they cover their ass and leave you even more exposed, lawyers, may be but not in America and they are expensive

Maybe not, PI.

I didn't like the looks of that site one bit.

And who is "Sharon"?

Paul, I have no idea about Sharon's last name. But, I am sure you can place a call and ask her.

This may not be for you. But, I suggest anyone looking for this type of service to conduct their own due diligence before enlisting their services.

No, I guess this wouldn't really be for us.

Paula and I have a senior partner with legal and accounting reps, so getting the money isn't really the problem.

Closing the deal, THAT'S the problem. happy.gif

But like fools, we all keep trying anyway to find the path to success. We'll get there.

Beets for Sale

"Yes $500.00 Total Flat, sure beets the higher fees that advertised Paymaster services are charging"

http://www.petroleumassociationpaymaster.com/

Dr. Levy says you will may regret doing business with companies that mistake "beets" for "beats" or has the IRS listed under "helpful links" along with WebMD and claims to be a member of the Better Business Bureau!

In fact I suspect the origin of this website is somewhere they use a lot of beets as in borscht.

But to my knowledge, there is no Petroleum Association Organization.

And isn't "association" and "organization" two words that mean pretty much the same thing?

I have a REAL problem with this website and its people, and I plan to keep digging.
