Do you mind responding to this post (by: BGConsultant with IP address: 218.186.10.9) found on his forum, addressing "leasing of BGs".

Bank Guarantee Fraud

This is a very simple fraud. A businessman or investor requires access to capital for his own purposes. Let us say that the individual wants a line of credit of $50million or more. That individual or business discovers that to obtain such a line of credit means paying very large sums in fees, commissions and probably even worse means providing huge quantities of security. An easy alternative is to succumb to the blandishments of an individual who says that all you have got to do is pay a one off sum and you will have a guaranteed bank facility.

Usually what will happen is that the individual will be told that one of the AAA banks will provide a guarantee for, say, $50 million subject to a payment of $1million as a fee. Obviously the businessman says he is not going to pay until he has seen the facility from the bank. Arrangements are therefore made for the $1million dollar fee to be lodged in an escrow account, usually either with a solicitor in London or with a fiducaire in Switzerland. The solicitor or fiducaire has clear instructions that he is not to release the monies until such time as the facility letter is to hand.

In due course a facility letter from a major bank does arrive appropriately signed at the bottom guaranteeing the $50million facility. The fiducaire releases the money. The investor then calls upon the bank to honour their facility. It is at that stage that the investor discovers that the two people who sign the facility either never existed or if they did exist had no authority to grant the facility and have left the bank or there is some other fraud involved.

The investor quickly attempts to hold the fiducaire or solicitor to account. He discovers that the usually crooked fiducaire or solicitor has a good excuse in that he did what he was told in releasing the monies when the facility letter came to hand. The investor then attempts to trace the monies and discovers they have moved through various different bank accounts and have ended up either in Lithuania, The Virgin Islands, or another location where it becomes increasingly difficult to either trace the monies or to recoup them.

In our experience the prime target for recoupment in cases of this sort should be the solicitor/fiducaire.

Will,

It is nice to have someone who cares enough for me to think about me when it comes 1+1 time.. I really should say "Thank You" that this market has taken its toll on my good nature and your sincere act of kindness has reaffirmed my faith in people all over the world..

I think when we get paid we should take our new cars and play bumper cars with them.. body work or damage be damed as it will not be too long until we once again enjoy the 1+1 shower of money that seems to rain down on us daily..

I think maybe we should make a +1 for "G"... all of the hedge money being shifted to his little island (to the point that the isle {love that word} may sink becuase of the weight) is not enough for him and the +1 would help him keep gas in his fleet of cars..

Maybe, as well we can add Tony in for a +1... Tony needs to help offset the California (State) deficit.. it is Tony's way of reaching out..

Maybe the Moderator (God Bless him for putting up with me let alone the rest of the freaks that drive thru) up for a +1 as well..

Maybe if we add a +1 in for Francis he will come home..

You know Will a lot of people are pro Gulfstream.. they look great in the hanger.. Tall and lean.. But I am a Falcon kind of guy.. I like the ability to go in on a short run way.. gets you into all those great fishing spots.. Gulfstreams need so much run way to land.. and the added couple of inches head room for a tall person like myself does not hurt the Falcon any.. Lear's are itty bittsie lil things..

 

I will drop you a line Will, I think you are having more fun than I am.. I have to check and make sure I am not missing to much on yourside of the world.

Its a mini concord.. nice bird. I would fly in generation 3 after the 50,000 hour mark.. but I am nervous that way.. my not having feathers and all..

Being part chicken one could reasonably assume I would have a few feathers, but its not the case.

I remember it so well....

About 4 years ago, I purchased the toy that I always wanted to own and once I experienced the pains of owning such a toy, well.....

Here is what happened to me.

I went to my local dealer and placed a nice deposit, so a year later I could drive (down on PCH) my favorite toy. The day arrived and I took the keys to my new toy and drove it from the dealer to my home. I parked the toy in my garage and then..... the expenses came...one after another.

The car can reach 200+ MPH but the fuel tank only holds 26 gallons. That means, if I want to drive from my home to San Francisco, I will have to make many, many fuel stops, just to get there.

The tires: With a tread depth of just 4mm, the tires need to be replaced every 10,000 miles and the wheels every 30,000. Total cost for one set of tires and wheels? Around $70,000USD!

The car will have its first 60,000-mile service and I have been told by the dealer, the car's engine must be taken apart and fly the components back to the manufacture! I have about 48,000 miles on the car and I am getting ready to sell it.....heck, owning it did not turn out to be what I had hoped.

Now, about owning a plane. The same story. Buying it is just the first stage of facing more bills (servicing, certification, storage cost, etc). The solution?
