Please realize that if you choose to vote "Not Bush", the only way to do that effectively is to vote for the next most likely candidate. In other words, you must vote for the democrat. Voting for a third party is counter-productive. Since there's not a snowball's chance in hell that a third party candidate will win this election, voting for a third party effectively takes votes away from the only candidate who could beat bush. Consider this scenario:
Bush 47%
Democrat 45%
Third Party Candidate 7%
Other 1%
These imaginary results show that the majority of the US can vote "Not Bush", and Bush can still win! The only way to unseat Bush is for all "Not Bush" voters to get behind a common candidate. Maybe that candidate will not be the ideal candidate for you, but isn't the alternative far worse? This is one time where you may actually be choosing between the lesser of two evils.
If you don't vote Bush, vote Democrat. Otherwise YOUR VOTE WILL NOT COUNT.
PS I should note that I do not advocate this type of voting for every election. This year is an exception only because of the damage our current president is causing. We must unseat him. In other years, where we may disagree with the president, but he isn't so bad, feel free to cast a vote for a third party... I will. |
