I actually sorta like Leiberman. He's not a shill for the party, which makes him very unique. An actual character guy. I don't agree with him all the time, but I don't have to to like him. |

Seriously, I lost what little respect I had for Leiberman when he took a stand against voilent video games.
What a bullshit, play-it-safe political tactic -- focus on a non-issue that won't alienate lobbyists to gain a little publicity.
I think he was the one who had an aide give a public statement, "Mr. Leiberman is against crime," when asked about towns importing medicine from Canada. Shrewd political move, fuckhead! You've got those pro-crime candidates all on the ropes now.
He probably has focus groups to pick his underwear. He would be just another useless president playing the game. Nothing would be even remotely different after 4 years of his smug ass in the white house. |

Hey, I said I sort of like him, I didn't say I was gonna vote for him.
The bitch of it is this. I like some of what the Republicans stand for. Less Govt, lower taxes, strong military.
I hate some of what the Republicans stand for:
Pro-life (like old white guys should be able to even talk about this)
Pro-Guns (I don't see why anyone needs an assualt weapon)
Christian Right Wing psychos.
The Dems are no better, with their race baiting, tax and spending, class warrior mentality. Why can't they just have a party that combines the best of the 2?
That shouldn't be hard, since it reflects what is probably a majority opinion in this country.
I know it's about $$$, it's always about $$$, but turn off the $$$ and you'd see the politicians running away from those special interest groups like the plague. |

I suspect Lieberman is a bit of a democratic gad-fly. Look at who funds him. Sorry no links ... too lazy... |

There is such a party...it's called Libertarian. =) Unfortunately, no one ever runs under that party.
Another thing you have to understand is just because candidates campaign one way, that doesn't necessarily reflect how they will be in office. They have to become a president and that means no pissing anyone off.
Like someone said...always about $$$. |

Libertarians are anti-gun control laws. |
