| Now I don't have problems with people advertising to tourist to get them to come to there businesses, but when nudist colony resorts start trying to attract people to them by saying there a family resort I think that they've gone a little to far. I found an advertisement for the local nudist colony, Avalon, and I read it mainly because I thought it would be funny. However I was shocked at some statements, mainly at one, that said "that it prides itself on being a family resort." Now I don't know if they ment family run or family vacation, but if its family vacation I know I would not want to be on that family vacation.
Sorry if anyone is a Nudist |

Personally, I think Americans in general make way too big a deal out of the human body. You would never give this a thought if you were in Europe. Not that I would care to vacation at a nudist colony, but I can't judge what others feel comfortable at doing. There are probably a lot more things they think about than nudity. I also think they stand for many issues that are of a positive nature rather than negative. i would be curious as to what they are truly all about though and how nudity fits in to the big picture. | |

They do, in fact, have family packages at Avalon. I used to work with one of their old chefs at the bakery and learned a lot about nudist colonies. For instance, it is a major offense to make it visible that you find someone attractive....guys, you know what I mean. Also, comments and gestures about other's physical appearance are completely innappropriate...
What you have to understand is that these people hold nudity at a completely different value level than you or I might. For them, no clothing is clothing, and to present yourself nude is, in fact, a family affair. I read an article once in Cosmo about this. It was a young guy's perspective of his parent's and their visits to nudist colonies. Evidentally, it is also not rare to see dressed people at these resorts. This guy never felt comfortable bearing his all, but since he grew up around nudists, he never gave other naked people a second glance....
just a thought. |
