first off, after many pints of cider, was O.B.E, a glasgow/ ayrshire based collective, with added saxa-ma-phone. awesome. see them before they become huge.
second: bad dancer. having never seen them before, i didnt really know what to expect but what came before my eyes was a vision on loveliness. when you see geon playing a thunderbird bass, it doesn't get much better. anyway they were great, with suzi, lead singer, putting in an awesome performance at the front of the stage.
next came loss leader (a.k.a joe quimby, for all you fighting red adair lovers) with his one man show of 80s electro pop/ rock with more joy division than you can hope for.
then the highlight of the night: do me bad things. starting off with current single 'time for deliverence', the nine piece, all crammed on to the barfly stage, did't fail to impress. mr frontman was a confused mess of jonny from torqamada, john from the sluts of trust and dick valentine all rolled into one, with more costume changes than mcfly. the band played a great set, with the crowd going mad for them, (and even one fan jumping at the chance to kiss mr. frontman dude when he walked off stage!) i have only one word to describe this band: brilliant. catch tham before every motherfucker on the planet loves them.
