Scottish Popsters “The Primary 5”, featuring Paul Quinn ex Teenage Fanclub & The Soup Dragons, are readying themselves for a busy 2005.
Since the release of their debut album “North Pole” (Bell beat Music) in September 2004, the Bellshill based band have received glowing recognition from their peers and press alike.
The bands debut show at Glasgow’s King Tuts in August 2004 “Sold Out” in no time and the fan base has grown with each passing show they play. Another “Sold Out” sign went up at King Tuts when the band played a Christmas show there following their very successful London debut at Alan McGee’s Death Disco mid December 2004.
The Primary 5 kicks off 2005 with a UK tour supporting 60’s legend Arthur Lee & Love in March/April. Arthur’s management approached the band after hearing North Pole and asked the band if they would guest as the opening act for Love’ upcoming UK tour.
“It is a surprise when you pick up the phone and your manager tells you that Arthur Lee & Love want you to play some shows with them, that just doesn’t happen everyday, and of course we jumped at the chance. We’re really excited about the shows and I can’t wait to see the man perform those brilliant songs from “Forever Changes” which is one record where the term “classic” is rightly used”.
The Primary 5 bandwagon keeps rolling with the news that “North Pole” has been licensed to Beatball Records in Korea and This Time records in Japan. Both scheduled for release in summer 2005.
