BLIND PEW – www.blindpew.com – info@blindpew.com
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Largs based four piece Blind Pew release the much anticipated You’re Claimed EP with a launch night at the Glasgow Barfly on Thursday 1st September, as part of the annual MusicWorks live music programme.

Blind Pew are old friends Andy McGregor (lead vocals and keyboard), Paul McGranaghan (guitar and vocals), Stu McIntosh (bass and vocals) and Del Lamont (drums) who decided to form the band when they realised that the only way they would ever escape small town life was to rock their way out.

The band's dirty, yet funky, rock'n'roll style has been compared to the likes of the Rolling Stones and the White Stripes, with an interesting twist of irreverent fun thrown in for good measure. As described in a recent live review:

“Blind Pew incorporate their tongue in cheek humour into their dirty garage rock style which quite frankly works well for them” (Jockrock live review, King Tuts, 18th June 2005).

DOWN THE TINY STEPS – www.downthetinysteps.co.uk
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hailing originally from Birnam but now based in Glasgow, Down The Tiny Steps’ sound effortlessly blends elements of the acoustic and the electric, marrying influences clearly born of a double-life lived in both the big smoke and highland Perthshire. Their music can switch in a moment from pastoral folk to extensive Can-style electronic workouts to real Birnam Hillbilly rock n' roll, making for a heady and truly original experience. Dtts will soon release their next EP “Jingleystompjanglejam” on Hijacked Records.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DRIVERDOWN – www.driverdown.com – info@driverdown.com
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Driverdown fuse riff based rock with trip hop vibes and have been described as "trip-rock sensations" by The Fly. Their debut album, Getting It Out The Way (Dicelines Records, 2004) was describbed by the Daily Record as "sexy, grinding music - ambitious, intelligent and emotionally affecting."

Started back in 1998 as a solo project by Jon McKellan, the current line up is completed by Kelly Robertson (vocals), Graeme McKellan (bass) and Omar Khan (drums).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LATONIC - www.latonic.com – management@latonic.com
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Formed in 2002, Latonic have since released 2 EPs - the most recent of which, "Half Life", was described by Backlash Magazine as "all-out, in your face, whiskey-fuelled, adrenalin-pumped, old school rock'n'roll". Fronted by Grant Nicol (an excellent front man; nonchalant one moment but passionate the next - Sunday Mail), this 5 piece band from Glasgow are currently working on their next release. This is not their first appearance at Oran Mor, having played a recent benefit gig at the venue.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MYOPIA - www.myopiamusic.co.uk - band@myopiamusic.co.uk
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myopia are a 5-piece from Glasgow. They recently released debut single She Says on Random Disc Records, and are set to follow this up with Already There shortly.

Described by Lick Magazine as "A blistering performance, oozing rock'n'roll cool from every pore", Myopia take their Led Zeppelin and The Music influenced set on their third UK tour in September.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STONEY – www.stoney.mu - info@stoney.mu
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stoney recently released the highly acclaimed single 'Soap in a Bathtub' through oxford based independent label Transistor. Described as "a rather fine attempt of Beck doing an Athlete cover" by The Fly, the single was playlisted at XFM, was 'Single of the Week' on BBC 6 Music's Breakfast Show and the Daily Record, and the B-side 'Bring Your Cup' was Dermot O'Leary's 'New Favourite Tune' on Radio 2. Stoney recently supported Arctic Monkeys, and played Glastonbury's 'Late n' Live' stage alongside The Subways, Fear of Music and Blackbud. Another single and an album is soon to follow, with more live dates in the pipeline too...

"Weird enough to be hip, commercial enough to be huge"... Sunday Times

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SUSPIRE - suspiremusic@hotmail.co.uk
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Suspire have been a part of Glasgow’s flourishing music scene for over 2 years now. Having played to massive crowds with headline shows at the Garage, the Arches and the Renfrew Ferry, the bands are constantly seeking their own perfection in sound. Almost unrecognisable as the band who first graced the stage of Strawberry Fields in March 2003, boasting a completely new set of songs with drastic line up changes, Suspire are now ready to woo their audience and move to the next level.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE JANES – www.thejanes.tv – thejanes@thejanes.tv
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Janes recently release a double-a-side single “This Is My Life / There Is No Them Only Us” with a launch night at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut. After reaching the Emergenza final at the Carling Academy in Glasgow last year, The Janes signed to US based management stable, Visual Planet Music.

Regulars on the Glasgow and London gigging scenes, their “Sassy, powerful female vocals” (The Metro) are backed by a powerful band, on whom U2 are an obvious influence. Described by Beat 106 FM’s Jim Gellatly as an “Absolutely stunning new band”, The Janes are generating a lot of label interest.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE OWSLEY SUNSHINE – www.theowsleysunshine.co.uk - theowsleysunshine@hotmail.com
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two albums, 2 EPs and a collection of rarities along the road, The Owsley Sunshine continue to remind us why EWO classed them "Glasgow's most prolific band". Underneath the psychedelic, dream land pop and infectious and imaginative melodies lies a twisted lyrical bent and some deceptively dark imagery. With the twin creative force of Joe & Nic, egging each other out of reason, The Owsley Sunshine will return you to a child-like world of lysergic sillyness you never even knew you'd been to. On stage The Owsley Sunshine strip their sound down to buzzing electric guitar, transistor organ/electric piano, bass guitar & pounding drums, and deliver a fun packed, often chaotic, energy filled romp through their vast catalogue of songs.

The band have played some of the most presitgous nights in the UK, including Headline slots at The Bandwagon in Liverpool, and Alan Mcgees Death Disco in London. The Owsleys have also supported big name psychedelic rebels such as The Solar Flares, The Zutons and sixites fuzz legends The Electric Prunes. The Owsleys have spent 2005 recording their epic 3rd album, Watermelon, which will be released in October through up and coming Glasgow independent label, Hijacked Records.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE RONELLES – www.theronelles.com – info@theronelles.com
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Formed in 2004, The Ronelles have had a very impressive rise to prominence - demonstrated by recent support slots for Kings Of Leon (Glasgow SECC) and The Zutons (Edinburgh Corn Exchange). Relentless gigging has resulted in a glowing live reputation, and other standout gigs of late include a sell-out headlining show at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and a slot at T In The Park, as well as supporting The Proclaimers on a recent tour!

The band have recorded their debut album at Park Lane Studios in Glasgow with Greg Kane, and the results will be released in the Autumn on Neon Tetra Records. This may well be your last chance to see The Ronelles in such an intimate venue.
